Research & Skills

I am a physicist, PhD in Material Science and my research career has been focused on functional materials for energy applications, from fundamental studies to final devices. It encompasses the preparation of thin films (epitaxial and polycrystalline) and bulk ceramics, structure, transport and electrochemistry properties characterization, the design of improved materials and their incorporation in the final devices (fuel cells, electrolyzers, gas separation membranes, superalloys…). Presently, I work on a BMBF project focused on (1) studying of new developed Ni superalloys by neutron and synchrotron diffraction (ND and XRD) and small angle neutron scattering (SANS) for alloy understanding and optimization and (2) developing of a new testing machine (tension and compression up to 100 kN and temperature up to 1200 °C) for in situ measurements under operation conditions and forging simulation that will be open for MLZ user community.

Applied Methods: neutron and X-ray diffraction, small-angle neutron scattering
