Scientific highlights of the past year are: approaching the dream of nuclear fusion with positrons, analyzing potential rocks for CO2 storage and researching an alternative to cow’s milk, such as milk from sugar beet leaves. The annual report provides general facts and figures as well as information on the conversion of the FRM II to low-enriched uranium (LEU) and the latest instrument updates.

No neutrons – no research? On the contrary: The Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum has published many scientific results also in 2022. Scientists at the MLZ are making their instruments fit for the future.
