Neutron scattering is essential to the investigation of the complexities of strongly correlated electron systems and the exploration of the frontiers of quantum matter. The Quantum Phenomena (QP) Group at the MLZ comprises scientists who investigate these topics using the entirety of the MLZ instrument suite. The main objective of the group is to provide a communication platform to foster open dialogue and collaboration among MLZ scientists and their integration into the broader scientific community, as well as active engagement with the user community. These efforts are vital to ensure our instruments and methodologies evolve in tandem with cutting-edge scientific advancements, driven by the needs and contributions of our user community. This collaborative approach not only enhances our research capabilities, but also keeps us at the forefront of scientific innovation.

The core activities of our group are closely aligned with our objectives as a communication platform. To facilitate ongoing dialogue among MLZ scientists, we hold regular meetings that focus on the latest developments in both science and instrumentation. These sessions feature scientific presentations from both internal and external researchers, serving as a foundation for in-depth discussions.

Topics

  • High temperature and unconventional superconductivity
  • Quantum magnetism
  • Emergent phenomena
  • Strongly correlated electrons systems
  • Unconventional superconductivity
