Xiaosong Li receives silver TUM badge of honor
In Summer 2019, the graduates of the TUMKolleg received their certificates for their successful participation on the occasion of the traditional graduation ceremony. This marks the end of the tenth year of the support project for particularly gifted students at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in cooperation with the Otto-von-Taube-Gymnasium and the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium.
High above the roofs of Munich, in the Vorhoelzer Forum of the Technical University of Munich, the Dean of the TUM School of Management, Prof. Dr. Kristina Reiss, and the former President of the TUM, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang A. Herrmann, awarded certificates to a total of 26 TUM collegiates.

MLZ scientists are awarded for their commitment to the TUMKolleg
In addition to honoring the TUM collegiates, Prof. Reiss and Prof. Herrmann also paid special tribute to the scientists who had been involved in supervising the students. They awarded them the silver TUM badge of honor. Among the new recipients of this award was Dr. Xiaosong Li, instrument scientist at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum. Li supported the student Lando von Etzel in his research work on “Classification of archaeological samples from Sudan using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA)”.
Before Dr. Li, other scientists from the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source had already been awarded with the silver TUM badge of honor: Prof. Dr. Winfried Petry, Dr. Robert Georgii, Dr. Christoph Hugenschmidt and Josef-Andreas Weber have already received this award for their work in the supervision of TUM collegiates.
