TUM-Expertenforum 2026

Non-destructive material testing and sustainability: opportunities and challenges for greater productivity

As demands for resource efficiency, quality and CO₂ reduction continue to rise at an ever-increasing pace, non-destructive testing (NDT) is coming increasingly into focus. It supports the entire product life cycle and is playing an ever more significant role in value creation.

The 10th TUM Expert Forum therefore centres on the question of how modern non-destructive testing methods can reduce material usage, prevent failures and make processes more efficient.

Experts from industry and research will discuss technological developments, exchange views on best practices and explore how new research findings can be translated into industrial applications.

The aim is to highlight potential for sustainable value creation and to strengthen the exchange between science and industry.

You can play an active part: ask questions directly to the experts, discuss your challenges in one-to-one discussions, and contribute your perspective to the panel discussion.

At the end of the event, a guided tour of the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II) will be offered. There are only 30 places available for this tour, so please register early.

Participation in the expert forum is free of charge. However, the number of participants is limited, so we recommend registering as soon as possible.
