The topological properties of materials, defi ned as characteristics that remain unchanged under gradual (elastic) deformations, attract great interest both from a fundamental point of view as well as technological applications. Both the topology of spin, charge, and lattice textures in real space as well as the topology of the electronic, phononic, and magnonic band structures in reciprocal space are under investigation. Neutron scattering is ideally suited to determine the topological properties of materials, benefiting greatly from major advances in instrumentation achieved in recent years.
