“I look forward to tackling the current challenges together with all colleagues at FRM II and MLZ”, says Peter Müller-Buschbaum. “Neutron science with our top-class instruments offers unique opportunities to pursue a wide range of scientific projects. All employees and users at MLZ significantly contribute to solving fundamental questions of society.”

The MLZ represents the cooperation between the Technische Universität München (TUM) and two Helmholtz research centers, Jülich and Hereon, to exploit the scientific use of FRM II in Garching near Munich.

Peter Müller-Buschbaum has been Scientific Director of FRM II and MLZ since 2018. His second term will also last for five years. The role of the chair for MLZ’s scientific directorate alternates between TUM and Helmholtz Association every two years.
