International Workshop on Slow Positron Beam Techniques and Applications - SLOPOS17 organized by the University of the Bundeswehr Munich

SLOPOS17 – the 17th International Workshop on Slow Positron Beam Techniques and Applications

will take place from September 6 to 11 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The workshop brings together members of the international scientific community to discuss recent developments in positron beam techniques and their applications.

The scientific program covers key aspects of positron and positronium beam science, including beam technologies, materials research, fundamental interactions and advances in experimental and data analysis methods. In addition to the scientific program, a social program will complement the stay.

A Summer School will be held prior to the conference on September 5 and 6. The program is specially designed for Master’s students and doctoral candidates and puts a strong focus on in-depth lectures covering the full spectrum of positron beam science – from fundamental principles to advanced experimental methods and applications. Topics include positron sources and beam formation, positronium physics, spectroscopy techniques, and even perspectives on antihydrogen and positron–electron plasmas.
