A three-day hands-on FullProf Workshop with an expert team from Institut Laue-Langevin – Juan Rodriguez-Carvajal, Nebil Katcho and Oscar Fabelo Rosa will take place in Garching, 18.3 – 20.3.2026.
Scientific scope
The FullProf Workshop is an intensive, hands-on session that uses the
programs in the FullProf Suite. It aims to contribute to the training of scientists with different profiles and backgrounds in the treatment of X-ray and neutron diffraction data. The lectures and tutorials will provide the essential tools for efficient use of the FullProf Suite at the intermediate and upper-intermediate levels. In addition to general applications of Rietveld refinement, the new features for material structural analysis, magnetic structure determination, and refinement will be considered.
Participants
The Workshop is best suited for PhD students and experienced scientists with a basic knowledge of diffraction techniques and crystallography. The number of participants is limited to 35, and the places are distributed on a “first-come, first-served” basis. The participation is free of charge. Preliminary/basic knowledge of FullProf is required; in exceptional cases, it is recommended to familiarise oneself with the FullProf manual and/or online tutorials in advance, as well as to try following the online tutorials accessible via the FullProf portal.
