It was an evening of interested questions and open discussions: Prof. Dr. Peter Müller-Buschbaum, Scientific Director of the FRM II and at the MLZ, and gallery owner Peter Litvai opened the exhibition “Neutron Source. A photo documentation of the research work of the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum” at the Litvai Photo Gallery in the heart of Landshut’s old town. Invited guests had the opportunity to talk directly with the directors of the FRM II; present were the scientific director, the deputy scientific director and the administrative director of the FRM II.

Admission to the exhibition is free. It will be open until November 19. © Wenzel Schürmann

High artistic quality and precise view
The exhibition presents a best-of of Wenzel Schürmann’s photographs until Nov. 19, 2022. Wenzel Schürmann was employed at the Technical University of Munich from 1991 to 2021 and took digital photos at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Research Neutron Source (FRM II) starting in 2001. In the opening speech, both laudators highlighted two aspects in the photographs: the high artistic quality and the precise view of technical details in the image motifs. All photographs were created as commissioned works for the FRM II, and each shot shows “un-staged” moments. Thus, Wenzel Schürmann’s photo documentation from the time of his almost 20 years of work at FRM II reflects the passion of the employees working at the FRM II and MLZ.
