Service Groups

The instrument service groups support the instrument teams and the scientific users.

The Sample Environment group provides widespread support for the scientific users to ensure the appropriate equipment such as magnets, cryostats and furnaces are on hand and in good working order so that the experiment is a success.

The Detector group at the MLZ offers broad support in terms of the maintenance and service of detectors, readout electronics and electronic components and is also very active in the field of detector development.

The Neutron Optics group is responsible for the neutron guide system and, in addition, is active in various areas of instrument development and experimental support.

The Information Technology group guarantees the smooth operation of the instruments and assists with data flow control and data storage.

IT Services builds and maintains the IT network and operates central services for data storage and communication.

The Infrastructure group, in close cooperation with the neutron source operation team and the instrument scientists, deals with coordination, planning and construction projects.
