Sample environment at ESS, from temperature and field perspective

The European Spallation Source is due to welcome its first users in 2023. This seems far in the future, but the first 15 instruments are now known, and planning for a robust, responsive, and capable sample environment service has already started. I will talk about the challenges we face as a green field site, current plans for our pool sample environment suite, particularly related to temperature and fields, and some development activities already taking place with ESS partners.
