Topological aspects of vortices in Type-II superconductors

Vortices in type-II superconductors live in a realm of topological constraints. The intriguing effects of these constraints will be addressed in this talk. We’ll look at the structure of the vortex lattice and also the effects of disorder on the vortex ensemble. Both aspects bear significant consequences for future vortex lattice studies and potentially for critical current applications.
